He's doing tv because he couldn't fix anything as a coach.

I'm not saying the Jones' should've hired Rex Ryan.
But I wouldn't have been 100% against it, either.
But I would've been at least a little "CAUTIOUS" about it.
I'm "WELL VERSED" in the "RYAN'S", going back to the father, Buddy (R.I.P.) - and continuing with brother Rob (who already had a stint with the Cowboys) - but they've ALWAYS "TALKED" more than they've "PRODUCED", at least "LONG TERM" - even though all 3 of them do have Super Bowl rings, from one level or another (Head Coach, DC, and Assistant Coach, etc).

But hiring Mike "PILLSBURY DOUGHBOY" McCarthy, and now, Zimmer (and I felt this way "BEFORE" the season started), just "SHOWS" and "CONFIRMS" what I've been saying about the Jones' - FOR YEARS:

THEY'RE STUCK IN THE PAST.

The Jones' are STUCK IN THE '90's and "PILLSBURY DOUGHBOY" McCarthy is STUCK IN THE EARLY TO MID 2000's.
When the Jones' hired Zimmer (which came as "NO SURPRISE" - at least not to me - as soon as I heard he was interviewing for the job), the FIRST THING I said - and WENT ON RECORD with was:

HE BETTER HAVE SOME "NEW TRICKS" UP HIS SLEEVE TO COMBAT WHAT "MODERN" NFL OFFENSES ARE DOING - ESPECIALLY THE "SHANAHAN TREE."
And I'm talking more than just that "DOUBLE A-GAP BLITZ", which has been part of the NFL for awhile now, too, so it's NOTHING "NEW", either.

Personally, the Cowboys NEED a "YOUNG", "MODERN", "INNOVATIVE" Head Coach, OC, and DC, etc, with "NEW", "FRESH", and "CREATIVE" ideas, etc.

"NOT" THESE RE-TREADS.

WHO was BEATING DOWN THE DOORS trying to hire "PILLSBURY DOUGHBOY" McCarthy and Schottenheimer or even Zimmer, for that matter?

That's your answer right there about hiring them.

I was cool with zimmer but i wanted Rex. How defense best fits a 3-4 because of the rangy linebackers and the ability to have both dlaw and micah standing up as outside linebackers. Most defenses are resembling the 3-4 anyway with sometimes both ends standing up. Also i feel like 3 big guys in the middle would be better as well as it alwasy being like 5 on 5 at the line of scrimmage. It just seems like we arent there in the interior. I like my chances with 3 big guys more then just bug guys.
