Tate Brothers Protest Olympics: Last Supper Parody Sparks Controversy | Paris Olympics | India Today

Controversial social media personality Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan stood in front of a church near the French Embassy in Bucharest on Sunday to protest the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The brothers, along with a few other protesters, claimed that the Last Supper parody during the opening ceremony "mocked Christianity."

This protest is part of a series of public appearances by the Tate brothers, who are both awaiting trial on charges of human trafficking, rape, and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. The brothers were initially arrested in December 2022 near Bucharest along with two Romanian women. Romanian prosecutors formally indicted all four in June last year, and they have all denied the allegations.

Andrew Tate, who has amassed 9.1 million followers on the social media platform X, has repeatedly claimed that prosecutors have no evidence against him and that there is a political conspiracy to silence him. He argues that the charges are baseless and part of a larger effort to stifle his voice. Tate's protest against the Olympic ceremony is the latest in a series of controversial actions and statements.
