Η Νεφέλη σχολιάζει την κυνική δήλωση του Σπύρου Πνευματικού σχετικά με την αντιμετώπιση των καρκινοπαθών, καθώς και το σύστημα υγείας στις ΗΠΑ και τις διαφορές του με τα υπόλοιπα ανεπτυγμένα κράτη. Γιατί η κατάσταση με τα ΕΚΑΒ έγινε τώρα προσωπικό στοίχημα του Κ. Μητσοτάκη, κι όχι την προηγούμενη τετραετία; Τι πιστεύει ο Τσακαλώτος για τους πλειστηριασμούς και γιατί είναι κριντζ το dirty talk στα ελληνικά;

It's sad that the health services system works this way, but unfortunately, it does.
If as you say, millions should be spent, even on people who have a very short time to live (week's) the budget for health care would run into the hundreds of billions.
In most countries, they have a cut off time, like the UK, which is two months. For example, if you are in hospital with terminal cancer, they will stop treating you for the actual cancer and refer you to a care home. There doctor's, nurses are specialised staff make you as comfortable as possible giving you medication when required. Specialist psychologists and councilors discuss what lies ahead and how to prepare. Even religion is used when the patient requests it.
This all sounds very macabre, but I personally went through the exact same thing I've described.
Our mother was sent to The Mare Curie cancer trust care home in Edinburgh.
She had 5-8 weeks to live.
After seeing her suffering in a hospital bed, with doctors doing tests after tests, pumping her with drugs that made her even worse and eventually hearing her beg for us to allow her to die in peace, it was a Christmas present when they actually allowed her to go into palliative care.
Five weeks later she slipped away, peacefully, with all her children around her bed.
In my humble opinion, there should always be a cut off time, for the patient sake and for the economics of saving others, who need urgent medical attention.
I can understand why this so upsetting to many, but it's reality, here and now.

Κάτι ακόμα.... Σε προηγούμενο επεισοδιο είχες εκφράσει την ενόχλησή σου και θεώρησες προσβλητικό το ότι κάποιοι χαρακτήρισαν αυτούς που ψήφισαν ΝΔ ως πάσχοντες από το σύνδρομο της Στοκχόλμης. Σε αυτό το επεισόδιο όμως αναφέρεσαι ειρωνικά στους ψηφοφόρους του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ, χαρακτηρίζοντάς τους ουσιαστικά ως .... εκτός κι αν δεν καταλαβαίνεις τι λες στο podcast οπότε πάμε σε άλλο Αν θες να σε πέρνουν στα σοβαρά και να φαίνεσαι τουλάχιστον αντικειμενική, (αν και είσαι δήθεν ) θα πρέπει να μην έχεις δύο μέτρα και δύο σταθμά στην κριτική σου...

Μα ποιος μίλησε για κοινωνικό κράτος; Που είδες κάτι τέτοιο; Αν μιλάς για την Ελλάδα....ξέχασέ το. Έχουμε άξια κόμματα που έχουν προνοήσει να μην έχουμε κάτι τέτοιο..
