I highly doubt they would actually get rid of the iPhone. The Apple Glasses are most likely going to be dependent on the iPhone, same as the Apple Watch. Added with the fact that the iPhone makes up around 50% of Apples revenue.

I don’t see the apple headset and apple glasses replacing the apple iPhone because there are some folks who wouldn’t want these technologies too close up on their eyes including me. Thanks for sharing. No disrespect. 👍🏾

I can see AR/VR eventually replacing the phone in the medium term. Also - Maybe wireless charging is a necessary requirement for the glasses to remain in a smaller form factor? I dont believe the phone will become foldable - its not something that has taken to market by storm. Flexible display tech may however find a way into something we havent seen yet…difficult to say really.

There is no way possible the glasses can be a stand alone without a phone or being paired with a big hardware. You still need room for battery and chips. Unless the quality of the resolution is decreased along with performance. I’d still stick with a phone for surfing but use glasses for notifications just like my watch.

Where does those glasses get their power from and for how long will the battery last

The concept of “glasses” eliminating the iPhone is ludicrous. How heavy will that pair of glasses be to work similar to an iPhone? How many widths of glasses will be made? Would it have to have tinted lenses to wear them outdoors? If expecting an urgent call while driving, how distracting will info seen in the lenses be to the driver? How about the close proximity to our brain—any dangers there? How about the greater chance of losing a high tech pair of glasses vs an iPhone? What about the issue of noise control so close to one’s head? How safe will they be? If these glasses bow breaks, how easy will it be to repair or replace? Glasses in front of my face is 1000 times more distracting than carrying a phone.
As far as the folding iPhone expanding to the size of a tablet—-how heavy will that phone be?
These innovations sound like a big turn off for this iPhone user of decades. I’ll walk to another company quicker than running from a lion. Exciting ideas for whom?

The return of a regular iPhone Plus/Max would be great. Having to get the dearest iPhone just to get a larger phone is really naff.
As to the Mini, maybe they could update it every few years like the SE.

I see it now. A future where people walk into light poles, other people, and are struck by cars while crossing the street, and drivers will cause accidents...all of them, while being distracted by Apple Glass. Distractions while driving due to cellphone use is already enough of a problem and do we really need more?

As a wearer of prescription glasses already I’d hope the glasses will be able to accept prescription lenses and still carry full functionality. Otherwise they will be missing a huge chunk of market, including all us glasses wearing tech nerds.
