Synopsis:
When Alex Rider learns that his Uncle Ian was killed in the line of duty as a British spy – and not a car accident like he’s been told – everything changes for this otherwise normal teen. Alex is soon approached by Alan Blunt, head of a top-secret offshoot of MI6 known as The Department, who reveals that he’s been unknowingly trained since childhood for the dangerous world of espionage. Pressured to leave his old life behind, Alex goes undercover to investigate the connection between the deaths of two billionaires and a remote boarding school called Point Blanc. Upon arrival, he discovers that the students are subjects in the megalomaniacal school director’s plan led to gain control of their families’ business empires. Aided by his classmate Kyra, best friend Tom, and his au pair Jack, Alex exposes the plot’s global network and begins his career as MI6’s youngest covert asset.

I know this show is not getting a lot of buzz, but I've read every single book in the series besides the last one written and I was hooked by this series. The action is so well written in them and I was horrified when they released the movie with Alex Pettyfer... it was hilariously awful. I am so excited they took a more serious, less YA-oriented approach to this tv series. Cannot wait! Thanks for covering this show Elliott! :)

im just going through reviews of this show to see what other people think. just binged it and wow this show was actually really good. read half of a book then got the rest of the synopsis from a friend way back when for the next couple. man this is like a mix of jack ryan, james bond and smidge of kingsman. i liked how it was well shot, acted and written pretty decent when i thought it was gonna be cheesy, comedic and less serious but it was played out very serious and that works. plays very serious like jack ryan and the dan craig bond, much thriller and some action but then the first reveal was um lets say old school bond and kingsman. loved the next reveal i had a suspicion it may have went the way it did and not a hit if you know what i mean but itll probably be more like that wanted movie on the reveal aspect next season.

mate for the kids like me who read them 10 years ago, this was such a great recreation, faithful to the author's intent whilst catered perfectly to us fans who have now grown up.

As a big fan of the books, I really appreciate the adaptation and the conscious effort to do the source material right. I'm very excited to see what is coming for the future of the show because there are a ton of very interesting plots and character arcs later down the line in the book series.

This series > book. Both are amazing. The tv series was altered enough that made it super interesting. I think it was amazing.

Thanks for the review. I binged watch it and I enjoyed it. Actually didn’t mind that it wasn’t a lot of action.

The adaptation itself, made to get interest from those who haven't read the books is a mix of the first and second book. Still was portrayed nicely, all things considered. While some things were changed, all for the better, the series really made itself stand out and keeping people like me, who have read the whole series, intrigued by bringing in moments and scenes that I didn't expect, as well as characters. If anything, I was upset at how 'smithers' character was portrayed. As for the characters that didn't have a payout, the payout comes in later on in the other books (and hopefully more seasons). All characters i feel that were important in the books, were kinda of glossed over. A lot of people who seem minor get major roles later in the books.

Thanks man, so far the show seems pretty good, even though I’m only a few episodes in

Huge fan of the books growing up and probably the most faithful book to screen adaptation I’ve ever seen. 10/10 loved the show.

Never seen your videos before but you have good pointers! But slow down man lol your machine-gunning like you’re out of breath the whole time and it’s a little overwhelming after a minute or two. Take a breath and slow it down :) or maybe try some jump cuts like jeremy jahns to help the flow feel snappy but without feeling rushed? Definitely not trying to be rude, I like your take in the show and wanna see you grow!

This title rang a bell and I remembered seeing it come out a few months ago here in Australia (yes we get some ITV shows) but I hadn't thought it would be of much interest. So there you go! If it were not for your review, it would have slipped by. Anyway I just watched the 1st episode and found it quite fun.

He was trained at a young age? His uncle literally kept that part of his life a secret from Alex.... I know there's a scene in the show where they say that oh his uncle must have really taught him everything, but it's not true. It's to show that this kid is so good that they even think that he has undergone training even though he hasnt.
