Fun fact:the full experiment was really a cat in a box with a vial of poison to be released when a radioactive isotope decayed. he reasons that is Copenhagen was right then the particle would both be decayed and not decayed meaning the poison was both released and not released which means that the cat is both dead and alive, but then they go back and say well why can't the cat collapse its own wavefunction. and that is the real thought experiment.
