Anyone who's into reggae knows this. There are so many reggae and dancehall songs I grew up loving and I only found out decades later that they were covers. An example, "When I See You Smile" by Singing Sweet in the early 90s, was originally done by some 80s rock band called Bad English.

Great comments from UB40 members! Matt( in the hat) looking so studious! He is the image of his dad Robin and Uncle Ali. I hope the album does well.

I'm privileged to have 1000 Volts of Holt album, well my son now has it. And so many other cover albums & 45's. Sadly my Samba Pa Ti reggae version 45rmp got broken when I loaned it to a friend. Love your coverage of everything reggae in Birmingham, my home town. Used to go to The Grapes Pub where the floor bounced 😂 😎

Does anyone hear remember the song by Barbara Jones - Just when I needed you most? That's been one of my favourite songs for decades.

Matt looks very much like a young Ali Campbell.

Not that I'm taking anything away from him, he's a great singer in his own right. Just an observation.

The truth is
UB40 originallly part where two sets of brother The Campbell brothers and the Falconer brothers Pablo Falconer was the producer but was unfortunately killed in a car crash driven by his drunk brother Paul who consequently spent five years in prison on the account of being drunk .When Pablo died they had to do covers as they lost such an important member of the bad .not many people know this as there huge fame came after this incident They are the biggest selling reggae act of all time.I was born and raised in the same area the come from
