I have the M1 Pro and tried out the M3 Pro. Ended up returning the M3 Pro. The M1 is more than enough for me for my workflow. I'll wait a couple years for maybe a design change. The Space Black nice tho!

My wife and brother have the M1 and M2 Pros for their jobs. It gets the job done because the work isn't too time urgent and their workload hasn't increased enough to validate the new M3 Pro or M3 Max additional performance gains.

However, it is an excellent hardware and good software for the professions that need them. AWS machine learning, professional video/photo editors, DJs, Java backend developers, JavaScript front-end developers, and UX/UI experts.

There are so much hype on M1, M2 and M3 chips. No need to go with them, buy M1 Pro with 10cpu, 16gpu, 16gb ram and 512gb/1tb, which can do all your purposes.

Great content, thanks. I recently purchased a refurbished M1 Pro MBP 14 (16GB/1TB). It more than meets my needs so I won't be upgrading. Coincidentally, I too have an M1 Studio Max (base model).

I'm glad you made this video. I had a hard time choosing with MBP 14 M3 to buy, but the steep price (in CAD $) made me thing twice. The MPB 14 M3 Pro 16/512 is $2699 CAD. I just found a pristine MBP 14 16/512 M1 Pro for $1500 CAD slightly used. I'm gonna jump. First Macbook in my half century life. Coming for the PC/Windows world. Will start editing photos and editing videos. If I ever need more, I'll upgrade.

I have a love-hate relationship with my M1 Pro 16 in. I do love using the display, but it's so heavy and cumbersome to carry around everywhere. I've been going back and forth on whether I should just trade it in for an M3 Pro 14-in. If the M3 Pro 14-in performs better then I would most definitely trade it in, but I haven't seen anyone do a real life benchmark test.

I upgraded to the 14in M3 Max (14 CPU, 30 GPU, 36GB RAM, 1TB SSD) from a base model 2018 Intel Macbook Pro Touch Bar. It got to the point where my fans were ramping up while just browsing the web and screen mirroring content. I am excited I did though. I always felt that macbook was holding me back performance wise. Video editing on it was slow and inefficient (crashed a lot or space issues). Its nice have a computer that doesn't cook your legs while performing basic or PRO tasks. I also used some discounts to lower the price while trading in my older macbook as well. Apple gave me $310 for the macbook, and my student discount brought the price down from $3199 to $2899. Out the door price was $2802.59

It is nice getting into a new space when you can set everything up from scratch. I upgraded from a 13” m1 to a 16” m2 pro earlier this year just for the screen and didn’t notice much of a difference. Next time I’d upgrade would maybe be for more storage built in. I’d like 8tb but I see it’s now only available if you buy the m3max which is a bummer.

The base M2 Pro is stupid fast and handles d wry thing I throw at it. Add this to the price difference between it and M3 pro base price and you can’t go wrong with it
