What is BDS?

US Congress is considering a bill that will criminalise the boycotting of Israel with up to 20 years imprisonment! This attack on First Amendment rights is based on a misunderstanding of BDS. But what is BDS, and why is Congress targeting it?

I am so sick of people pulling the “you’re anti-Semitic” card every time someone criticizes Israel. This has played a big role in giving Israel the green light to commit war crimes and then use the card to defend its tyrannical actions.

This is a complicated speech issue on its face, but it’s pretty straightforward – as much as Israel talks about how BDS activists should be attacking other countries instead of them, there is no other country that can have a boycott made illegal in America.

Just compare it to Russia – Russia is involved in a border skirmish with a “country” that was a part of Russia thirty years ago. Israel is stealing land from its neighbors that it has no claim at all to, from countries that are not threats to Israel.

So by Israel's logic the Saudi govt should yell 'Islamophobia' every time people criticizes or boycotts them for their human rights violations.

Oh and the North Korean govt should yell ‘anti-Korean’ every time people criticize them for oppression in their country.

Also I take it that the German govt yelled 'anti-German' to anyone who criticized or boycotted them during the Nazi era. Got it! Now I see Israels logic! 👍

Am boycotting Hewlett Packard (Hp). They provide computer hardware to the Israeli army and maintain data centers through their servers for the Israeli police. They provide the Itanium servers to operate the Aviv System, the computerized database of Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority. This forms the backbone of Israel’s racial segregation and apartheid. No more Hp products for me.
