Okay can I just say I absolutely adore how their relationship is portrayed in the 90’s version and the current version.

Snufkin is the perfect representation of a introvert person. He’s treated normal and introverts can have feelings, friends and love. He clearly expresses his desire to be alone and has never shown to be attached to anything specific besides moomin valley and moomin himself. He compromised by staying in moomin valley and leaving every winter which is perfect since moomin hibernates in the winter. He even waited once for him to go into hibernation so moomin wouldn’t miss him and will see him when he wakes up.

When Moomin wanted to go with him even moomin papa explained to him that “He’s a very Solitary man” I like how they handled it. The show makes it clear he needs alone time but cares about moomin more than anything even plays a special song just for him to wake up too. When moomin was under the sleep spell, sniff and little my happily listened to his song but snufkin immediately stopped when he didn’t see moomin. He promised to make him better when Moomin mumbled his name.

That’s another thing, moomin ignores everyone even snorkmaiden to see snufkin, he dreams about him constantly coming towards him and his nightmares consist of his leaving, all he wants is to run away with snufkin instead of living his nightmares. He accepts him for who he is and vise versa. It’s great to see how respected these characters and their personalities are treated.

Truly their relationship is meaning for True Longing and Connection. It’s true embodiment of love in all circumstances.🤍💚
