horse riding isn’t the most expensive sport, Formula 1 or F1 for short is what seems to be the most expensive sport. Getting a F1 car is already $12 to $20 million. Additionally vehicle, office and utility payments are an additional $6 million. Plus another additional cost of $4.5 million for miscellaneous expenses. Also about $1 million for insurance. In total running the race totals up to around $575 million. The overall expense for the whole thing is close to $1 billion dollars.
⚠️THIS IS IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM OF “bragging” AS I CAN’T EVEN COMPETE IN F1 BUT THE MISCONCEPTION IS THAT HORSE RIDING IS ONE OF THE MOST EXPENSIVE SPORTS, AND YES IT IS ONE OF THE MOST EXPENSIVE BUT NOT THE MOST EXPENSIVE AS I MENTIONED F1 RACING IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE SPORT IN THE WORLD AS OF NOW. ⚠️

You know it doesnt matter that what sport is more expensive. Cause someones sport can cost 10-40$ and they are so happy to have it and the sport makes it happy. Cause always the money doesnt give you everything.😊

We’re not saying other sports is not expensive cause a lot of sports are really expensive, but equestrian is 2nd most expensive. The 1st being a festival of sports that involves lots of expensive vehicles (like helicopters, expensive cars, etc.)

Tops:£40-80
Competition jacket:£100-800
(Mine was £750 not bragging!)
Saddle pad:£40-80 (probably have more than one😅)
Riders boots:£300-800 (mine where £800 again not to Bragg)
Headcollar:£20-60
Rugs:£80-200

Gloves:£15+
Whips:£15-30
Spurs:£40+
BD, BE, BS memberships:£80 a month
Buckets:£5-15
Treats:£5+
Saddle:£500-5500 (Really feel bad talking about money but mine was around £3000. I’m so sorry if it sounds like I’m bragging this is just for educational purposes!)
Bridle:£400+
Cleaning supplies:£20+
Riders injury fees: if you live where there is no NHS:£500-10, 000
Brushes:£20+
Having 6 horses that are in consistent work aswell try multiplying that by 6 it’s not fun😅

Things you need multiple times each month

Horses Boots:£25-60
Shoeing:£60 optional
Farrier:£40-50
Vet:£200-40000 occasionally
Clipping:£50
Dentist:£70+
Lessons:£25-80

Turnout: Priceless
Competitions:£25+
Stabling:£30+ a week if your on a yard

And of course the horse I spent £30k on my horse I really don’t me to brag but horses can range from £5-250k+
I also have competitions:£25-50 several times every month.

To all those people saying oh but Dance is expensive this sport is expensive that sport is expensive. IN MY OPINION! Horse riding is by far the most expensive sport, and yes ok some other sports like dance is expensive but when your riding at a professional level the money you loose is extortionate! We don’t just spend a lot but also put our lives on the line.
The reason top riders have sponsors! I really didn’t mean to brag and I’m sorry if I offended anyone in anyway by looking like I’m trying to show off how much money I have! I am really not! 😊

Please let me know if I have missed anything!
Thank you for taking the time to read this! No hate

Horse - 1000-20000+ (sometimes millions)
Tack - 100-1000+
Land-
Stable/shelter - 10000+
Extras (jumps, barrels ect) - 1000+
Arenas - 20000+
Gear (shoes, body protector, gloves, jodhpurs ect) - 200-300+ (the other day I paid 300 for a new body protector, shoes, gloves, helmet, jodhpurs, helmet cover and more)
Services (vet, farrier, dentist ect) - 1000+
Feed - 100+
Extra vet bills - 3000-20000+
Lessons - 25-50+ (mine cost 25 a lesson and I have 2 a week which is 50 a week)

Plus equestrian (or horseriding) is the second most expensive sport look it up.

Okay here's my take, just saying something is the most expensive is subjective. It depends on how much money you have as an individual to spend on your sport.

Yeah, being equestrian is expensive, but if you have enough money it can be cheap. However, if youre a competitive cyclist, dancer, or even hockey player who doesn't have the money, then even that can be expensive.

Generally speaking, depending on how much money you have, any sport can either be expensive or cheap.

I agree that Horse riding is one of the most expensive sports but let me break down some ballet/dance prices

Clothes: 100$-700$
Shoes : 50$ - 300$ (every month or so)
Doctor intakes : 50$-100$ (depends on ur doctor)
Lessons : 15$-200$ per lesson ( Yes it’s true some lessons cost that much)

*For people that compete*
Extra lessons:15$-200$
Comp entering fee : 50$-400$
Costume:10$-300$

The average total for people who don’t compete (per year)
Comes out to about 2, 000$

And for people who do compete

Around 3, 000 per year

*DISCLAIMER* I did not count transport and hospital visits costs cause those can depend on how u get there and how good ur trained.

I done some research and here is the truest I can find

1.formula 1 cost 150M$-400M$

2.horse riding can cost around 26k-30k a year

So if you ask me its formula 1

For dance you need to pay at $150 a week for lessons plus a bag for everything cost at least $25 you need point shoes which are $150 EACH and you need a new pair every week or so plus for the recital you need to pay a $50 fee and for the costume it cost $800 or so and you were it once in total that $2, 375 for the last week of dance before the recital now multiply that my 18 weeks dance is the most expensive
