So this is a worse case for Batman! Every detective knows the moment someone break character, that’s a sign for concern!

Imagine being Guy Gardner and getting a call in space to hear that your friend was shot and killed, just to find out everybody disregarded him. I’d be livid

Worst part is after BB’s death, Batman took ONE look at the evidence and solved the whole mystery. If he just took a look he would’ve prevented all of this

Its sad because they revisited this story later from boosters point of view and booster came back into time to be with Beetle while he was dying.

I knew about Blue and Gold being considered the lamest leaguers but I had no idea that the JLA felt the same way about them. That’s rly disappointing.

What is surprising to me about this is Martian Manhunter can read minds. Couldn't he have just looked in Blue Bettle's mind to see what made him so certain 🤨

If it were any other main league members they would’ve too their word on it, they were so far on their high horse they saw everyone else beneath them which ultimately led to more carnage due to their hubris

You know what makes Martian Manhunter ignoring Blue Beetle’s concerns even worse? In the late ‘90s, there was an issue of JLA in which no one took MM seriously. The plot was some hunters had killed an alien they claimed had been a hostile invader. MM realized something was wrong and tried to get the other leaguers to help him investigate, but they not only refused, but also commended the hunters for “doing their job for them”. Superman was oddly anti-alien as well, which MM pointed out was odd. His investigation discovered that the hunters weren’t heroes who killed a hostile invader; the alien was actually an innocent mother with her baby and the hunters panicked and shot them just because the mother looked scary. They felt bad afterwards when they realized they had killed an alien baby, but they hid the infant’s body, and the truth, so they could pose as heroes to the press. Martian Manhunter knew what it was like to have all your teammates against you and have to do things alone, and yet he refused to give BB the same support he had wanted someone to give him.

Booster gold was one of my favorite comics to read as a kid. The aftermath and seeing him angry at this was really cool to see the turn around of the character

This fact is why I love that, when Jaime comes into contact with the League when against Brother Eye and gets left behind basically, he says "fuck you guys" and refuses to interact with them for a while

Why the hell did they invite Blue Beetle and Booster Gold to the team if they didn’t take them seriously? Just to make themselves look more competent?

They may not have pulled the trigger, but the definitely loaded the gun.

I really appreciate the explanation vid, I think I get it a lot more, now. It still doesn’t make sense that Booster said Batman “knew” what Ted was getting into, but I guess that could just be him being less fluent while he’s so upset.

I disagree about Wonder Woman causing his death. She had to tend to her duty & responsibilities, then she seemed super mad about the whole thing (even killing a guy, apparently- I don’t think she normally did that).

To make it worse WW and MM could have easily checked to see if they were telling the truth

When I read this story, I was heartbroken. Ted was treated so poorly by the league and that made his death that much more saddening.

Correct me if im wrong but it seems Wonder Woman was the only one who was taking them seriously, their interactions seem really interesting in this comic and her avenging BBs death says a lot to me could their be a video explaining her part in the story snd her relationship with BB and BG?

Tbh its sucks how 50% of the time these days Batman is a jerk and just on a high horse who ignore everyone because "IM BATMAN IM A GOD AND EVERYONE LIKES ME BECAUSE IM THE EDGY COOL GUY", it sucks because the other 50% hes cool, paranoid but still understandable, hell sometimes Batman doesn't even trust robin, anyone of them, the ONE SINGLE story that made this apart of the plot and had batman improve on was lego Batman

The thing I hate about this comic is how most of the characters were out of character. You would think that they would listen to Ted's concern, sure he's known to be a "goofball" along with Booster, but he's an official member of the JL, that should've count for some respect. At least WW believe Ted's concerns about what's going, but unfortunately, she needed to do her duties which more important than what's going on, at the time. Superman was way out of character, dismissing Ted's concern, especially after being told that 100 lbs of kryptonite are missing from Ted's warehouse, which should've gained Superman's attention, but it didn't. Batman, whose paranoia is at an all time high thanks to Identity Crisis, was most likely to have taken Ted's concerns seriously, especially when Ted mentioned suspicious activity about Wayne Enterprises money is being taken, dismissed it as something he would look into later, unfortunately, he lashed out against Ted once he started mentioning Sue and Dr Light, which was still a touchy subject for him, telling him to leave. Then there MM, who just dismissed Ted's near death experience as something that every hero go through, and not some suspicious plot against them, despite the coincidence, and even calls WW too trusting to believe Ted's claims, while at the same time calling him a fool without needing to outright call him one. It's so bad. It's kinda obvious that the writers wrote this all for the sake of setting up Infinite Crisis, no matter how badly they write the characters, even ruining them for years afterwards.

Superman hearing all of this and knowing what's going on: " Im just gonna ignore that" :)

Maxwell lord’s plan doesn’t make sense. He wants to kill all meta humans even though he is a meta human
