Hi ICA I have recently submitted my family tree to your affiliate team at Italian Dual Citizenship for review. I’m grateful that while your team is researching and determining my eligibility to proceed, I am also able to watch all of these videos to gain some additional information about the intricacies of this process. Your videos are greatly produced and very informative. Thank you!

It was a gut punch to learn today that me and my two little ones can not become Italian citizens via my father, as he had to renounce his citizenship before I was born to become a US citizen. All of his siblings and my cousins have not had this issue as they were born before their parents became US citizens or earned dual citizenship.

It's really awful and heartbreaking to know that despite being almost 100% Italian genetically, and that you have scores of relatives in Italy, and your entire extended family in US can or have Italian citizenship, you can't.

If I can't become an Italian citizen via my great grandparents can I fight this through court? At the very least be a "test case" to try enact change via the Italian courts? We have elderly relatives in Italy who want their grand-niece and nephews to live with them during their twilight years, and could also use the assistance.

I can't express enough how heart wrenching this entire process has been and the potential devastating results could be to my family.

An adult is defined as 21 in my case. My ancestor was granted full naturalization when my grandmother turned 24 and was already married, however, he may have started the process 10 days before her 21st birthday. The process took 3 years for him to complete. When does the "adult" apply? Is it the date of the first form when starting the naturalization process or when naturalization was awarded and they became a full US citizen? I'm very confused about this small but crucial detail and I cannot seem to find answers anywhere.

I have a Law 555 question. While it wasn't completely spelled out in the video, I'm assuming the references to inconsistent rulings in cases where a father naturalized, AFTER the birth of a US-born child but BEFORE that child attained majority, concern only cases where the father naturalized AFTER 30 June 1912. Is this correct? In other words, the blanket disqualification of minor children whose father naturalized pre-1912 still applies?

Why is it taking so long for judges to set a hearing date after the case has been filled in Rome? I have not heard of anyone who filed this year getting a hearing date assigned yet.

I'm not sure if you can help with this, but I feel like I have a tricky 1948 question and any guidance you can provide would be extremely appreciated.

My great grand parents on my mom's side were born in Savona in the late 1800s. They moved to America and my great grandfather obtained US citizenship by serving in WW1. They had a child (my grandfather) in 1930. Am I still able to get citizenship via the 1948 method if his mother became a US citizen at some point before my grandfather's birth? Unfortunately, we don't know if or when she became a US citizen.

As a client of Italian Citizenship Assistance, how is it responding to being scattered across the country versus all operating out of Rome? Any concerns that we won’t get an attorney who is as knowledgeable in presenting a 1948 case?

My citizenship was taken away when I married a British national in 1970. I now have Italian citizenship, but it seems ny son cannot have Italian citizenship because of me taking British citizenship because I could not have a Italian passport otherwise I was stateless.

Hi! I am currently a client at ICA and I was wondering what legal adult age the courts are referring to since the legal age in 2022 is not the same as the legal age in 1940, in order to be outside of the minor bracket would your ancestor need to be 16 or 18 when their parent naturalized? Thanks for the video

Thank you for all the information you provided. It has been so helpful. Can you do an episode on same sex couples moving to Italy? We are looking to get residency and possible citizenship. We have already bought our property.

Hi and thanks for this info. If going thru the 1948 case, and the last step is having the ancestor Commune register your records into their system, how long does this usually take knowing that all Italian government bureaucracy is VERY SLOW? In other words, Once the lawyer's office hands /mails the documents of the individual to the Commune, can it take up to 3-4 months for them to enter /register into their system and having the mayor (of the Commune) finally sign it(and the applicant can finally apply for their AIRE)? Does it matter if the Commune is small (say only 5 or 6k population) or larger of well over 200k ? Thanks again
