Just to clear up some confusion~ Eddie Guerrero didn’t die here; nor did he have a heart attack on stage/ in the ring. In this fight (2004 Judgement Day) Eddie received a large gash across his forehead. The cut was intentional/ planned and meant to be superficial; but the cut was too deep causing him to black out from blood loss. (Thus the thousand yard stare.) One of the things Eddie was best known for was being able to act injured with an intensity that made it believable; so at first they didn’t know he was actually blacking out.
Eddie did die about a year or so after the 2004 Judgment Day fight, due to heart failure in his hotel room. RIP Eddie.

As a heart attack surviver myself it is honestly insane to think we all are depending on a muscle to beat every second of the day our whole lives in order to live. And if something goes wrong with even the rhythm of that beat or it stops you are finished within seconds.

My dad recently had a heart attack and survived. Thank God my mom called 911 immediately. I was thinking he just had shortness of breath for a moment but it just kept getting worse. If they were not there, he would have died for sure. And, from the outside looking in, it seems like it isn't very serious. Man, it's just so surreal. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ my dad is in the other room, sleeping, and I get to see him in the morning.

ESTO FUE MUY DOLOROSO Y TRISTE.
LO MALO QUE NADIE SABÍA LO QUE LE ESTABA OCURRIENDO AL LUCHADOR.
PIENSO QUE NADIE TUVO CULPABILIDAD.
TENÍA YO 39 AÑOS Y QUISE VOLVER A SUBIR AL CUADRILÁTERO Y ME LO PERMITIERON, PERO LLEGÓ EL ENTRENADOR E INMEDIATAMENTE ME QUITÓ LOS GUANTES Y MUY ENOJADO ME DIJO: " SI NO ME TRAES UN CERTIFICADO MÉDICO, NI TE ASOMES POR ACÁ."
AUNQUE NO ME GUSTÓ SU REACCIÓN, DESPUÉS ENTENDÍ QUE EL ME ESTABA PROTEGIENDO A MI INTEGRIDAD Y A MI SALUD.
NUNCA OLVIDARÉ ESO.

Bad way to go, I had 3 hearts attacks. The last one was like that, I couldn't stand one my own. My son picked me up in a standing position I was on my back. He said he had to keep me off my back it would help me breath. But I couldn't breath. Ambulance was at my door in 3 minutes. To me it was 3 hours. My son saved my life that day. God has Eddie now. He's in a wonderful place. I been there. He would not come back if he could. At 71- I had open heart surgery, triple bypass. I'm still here God must have plans for me. I died 2 times and came back, they told me up there that I couldn't stay. Not yet they said. But the truth is. I can't hardly wait to get back there. It's wonderful.

Rip Eddy.. He was such a nice guy. Played pool with him at his home at a Christmas party he thru. He invited the whole neighborhood. He had other wrestlers over and just asked to not talk about work. One of the most memorable parties I attended in my youth. I'll always remember this great guy.

As a 36 year old man who grew up watching the best era of wrestling as a kid this definitely put a lump in my throat. Rest easy king.
