Total Length

Retrieving the total length of linear elements is something reoccurring in many professions working with AutoCAD. The 'Total Length' command is a basic command which automated the process. The user can select any linear entity. After confirming the selection AutoCAD will show an alert with the total length of the lines as well as a prompt on the command line. Writing data down by hand should be prevented as much as possible in order to prevent human mistakes. For this reason the command is equipped with a possibility to paste the number anywhere the user wants because the result is put on the windows clipboard. So the result doesn't necessarily need to be pasted into the drawing but can also be pasted into an email or an Excel file for example.
