The 2023 BMW X1 xDrive28i Is A Smaller & More Affordable Miniaturized X5

Показать описание
The smallest BMW SUV gets a full redesign for 2023. The new #BMWX1 is now in its 3rd generation and it takes a lot of design cues from the bigger X5 and shrinks it into a handsomely proportioned SUV. The #X1xDrive28 will be the only model at launch and it uses an upgraded 2.0L turbo engine making up to 241 HP and up to 34 MPG. Pricing for the new #X1 begins at $38,600 and it goes on sale next month.

Talk about an ugly duckling becoming a swan 🦢! Maybe this could be the start of a new design direction for the rest of BMW’s SUV’s? 😅 We hear a higher performance M35i model is coming too!

The first gen X1 was actually rear wheel drive standard (optional XDrive). It drives much better than it looks.

Dealer wants 850 a month for this. We have the 2020 x1 for 399 per month. We will buy ours out in 2 months lol

It’s really nice. I appreciate that they made it a little taller to look like the X5 and x3. The previous model was a little funny looking. I don’t know if I’d call the price affordable though at around $40k. Honestly at that price point you should just spend a little bit more and get the X3 for $50k

I am about to trade in my 2019 3 series for the X1. After test driving it I confirmed what I expected, its not as much fun to drive but easier getting in and out of. Be prepared to wait-- I ordered mine yesterday--wait time is 3 to 4 months.

A 149 mph top speed is crazy for a family crossover suv and still get 34 mpg highway. It's just so crazy how far engine technology has come over the last decade. Besides the engine, this is an awesome suv just in it's own right.

Girlfriend ordered hers in beginning of November, was shipped to the dealer a few days before new years. 2023 looks so much better then 2022. Love the seats, the side support holds you perfectly

By far this is the best looking SUV inside and out.
I wish there was less turbo lag and the sound system was better.
You literally have to turn it up to 50% just to hear it.
To me the ride was a bit on the softer side especially for a BMW.

No rotary controller = no thanks for my family. I agree that many buyers won't care, but it remains a significant negative impact on safety, especially with that reach distance. The funny part is that some academic research demonstrating this was sponsored by BMW.

How does this compare to the Mazda cx5 turbo?

Fun fact: Xdrive tech is the same as Quattro tech from Audi. Made by the same supplier.

0:00 Your statement about the appearance of the first front wheel driven X1 is false. It didn't come out over 10 years ago but in dec of 2015 as a 2016 modell.

It’s interesting how reviewers always assume who’s going to be buying the car. Younger buyers because this is an entry model BMW? It is still a premium vehicle and out of reach for many.
