In this video I walk you through the process of repairing a Lunkenheimer Mockingbird steam whistle. these whistles can be tricky due to the amount of moving parts but once they are working right they are capable of quite a bit. in some scenarios they can even be found playing short musical jingles. they were origionally used as fire alarm whistles or factory whistles. if you like this video please like and subscribe.

I have a Lunkenheimer whistle I found in the ground by the mine my great great grandfather worked at. It's missing the valve and spring though.

I wonder why you would open up a whistle to see what makes it tick? Shouldn't it toot? Maybe that is the problem, your tick should be a toot. Anyway… nice to see you blow your own horn on YT.
