Boeing to lay off thousands of workers

Boeing will lay off 17,000 workers in a bid to slash costs, as an ongoing strike impacts the company's finances.

The company claims it is shrinking its workforce by 10 per cent to 'align with its financial reality'.

The month-long strike has caused five billion in losses for the company, causing its shares to fall 1.7 per cent.

Boeing will cut its production schedule and will end production of 767 freighter jets in 2027.
