An easy to follow guide on how to put together a create workshop, knowing what to include and some tips and tricks to help along the way. I started off with this going to be a tutorial but soon found it was better off as a guide to leave room for creative liberties.

Edit: so turns out my editing software has a "normalise audio" function and it just nuked my voice, making the game audio WAY louder, I'll make sure not to do that in future

I love how you embrace the aesthetic-functional synthesis side of create, which imo is its biggest strength. I struggle with building so this is a great guide

As far as the saw thing, my guess is it’s because spinning towards you as you push away is how a table saw operates

really great video, i enjoy how you don't explain the absolute basics like every other tutorial, and instead give us tips and tricks about optimizing layout of machines and mechanical power. I am looking for more of that type of content.
keep up the great work, subbed

You can use casings on the cogs to make the speeding setup more compact, since casing make so the shaft part of the cog doesn't interact with what in front of it.

Excellent tutorial, please keep em coming!

you can make the sort of speed step-up with cogs much more compact by putting casings on the cogs--it prevents them from linking with the other cogs that the shafts would usually connect with, so you can basically just go with a tiny 2x3x2 footprint or so by stacking them on top of each other

This really helped, brilliant video, thank you!

9:44 I can recommend the framed blocks mod for this problem. The mod contains every single form of block including stairs and they take the texture of the block you place in it.

8:25 When using a table saw, if the saw teeth are coming at the wood from above, the wood is pulled down into the table. If you feed the wood in backwards so the teeth are coming up at the wood from below, the wood can be knocked into the air making a sloppy cut or worse case scenario the saw catches the wood and launches it at high velocity away from you. if you were holding the wood down hard enough to get it to cut when this happens, there is a good chance you get pulled into the saw.

You can also use the create item container with some brass funnels to make an easy multi stage deployer set up in 5 x 3 x 2. Also, using the attribute filter you can you make your filtering much easier..

Hi I've been checking your guides and they're mostrly grea! Specially the fact that you're not only building contraptions but also buildings to hold them! But I have one criticism if you ever update this, you skip a lot of steps that may seem simple to you but are not simple for those getting to know the mod, so I find myself pausing the video a ton of times to try and count your blocks so i can have the same set up or figure out what you put behind stuff and didn't show, figure how to make things work that you didn't Once again, still great guides, the best available really!

8:25 They did that so that you can use three small cogs conecting last axis of the input belt, saw and first axis of the output belt. Each connection between cogs inverts rotation speed, so first cog pushes left (X), saw is inverted (-X), output gets inverted again (X). In real life, saws have to cut against the log, or the saw will throw the log forward... kind of makes sense.

I love how you showed us how to build the crushing wheels

This is a great tutorial, but just one thing, the saw blade situation can be done with 3 cogs on the belts and saw

tailmo

you can encase the cogs to gearshift compactly if you don’t have a rotation speed controller

It's a tutorial if you know what you're doing otherwise it's an adventure in learning how to build

Does the bulk smelting work with anything else besides lava? I tried using a soul campfire but it doesn't want to go through either the camp fire or the belt.
