Divisibility rules :

- A number is divided by 2 if the last digit is even.

- A number is divided by 3 if the sum of its digits is divisible by 3

- A number is divided by 4 if the number represented by its last two digits is divisible by 4

- A number is divided by 5 if the last digit is 0 or 5

- A number is divided by 6 if the number is divisible by 2 and 3

- A number is divided by 7 : Remove the last digit, double it, subtract it from the leftover number. The result is divisible by 7

- A number is divided by 8 if the number represented by its last three digits is divisible by 8

- A number is divided by 9 if the sum of its digits is divisible by 9

- A number is divided by 10 if the last digit is 0

- A number is divided by 11 : subtract the last digit from the number formed by the remaining digits. If the new number is divisible by 11, the original number is divisible by 11.

- A number is divided by 12 if the number is divisible by 3 and 4

The simple way is add all the numbers and divide by 9 you get the quotient. Total Comes to 50 divide it by 9 you get the balance 5, how is this?

this trik is neat but its useless when asked to explain how you came to the answer; even more so when you have to write out the equation.

Teaching situational rules like this is the bread and butter of common core, and it ends up being useless.

You added tricks which will entertain students and kids... When kids love to play and slowly will love to solve mystery... Unlike teachers in school....

you just add up all the individual numbers 7+3+5+2+2+4+7+9+2+9..and get 50 and repeat... 5+0 = 5

Sum of each digit in that number is 50, 45 is the closest multiple to 50 which is lower than 50.so 50-45=5

Add all the digits....Its 50.
Divide 50 by 9.
5 remains.

His system is shot full of holes. I tried eight different random high number divisions and only one came close to the remainder. VooDoo arithmetic!!

I said 5 first, but thought I was wrong, ugh, always go with your 1st answer
