A few holes in that theory. He wasn’t discovered by his mother after the incident. She became the jinx of camp crystal lake because she believed he actually drowned. Why do you think she killed all those counselors in the original? It’s true she was crazy, but it was clear that she had a motive. I agree with the part where he might not have drowned at all, seeing as how he still aged.

Jason has one of the best origins. Michaels is just one day he snapped, and Freddy's is that he's a demon, but Jason went through a shit ton of trauma.and that's why he has the best origin story

Depends on how you kook at the series. If you view the original as a stand alone, he drowned.

Part 2-4 he did not. His mother tried to avenge what she thought had happened

Part 6 on retconned the retcon and claimed that he drowned . Tommy thought that chaining Jason in the lake would bind his spirit there and it worked, which explains why, with his great strength, he couldn't break the chain.

The remake went back to basics. He didn't drown... personally, I prefer the living, human psych Jason, though I do love Kane Hodder as Jason too

My theory: Jason DID drown and die but his mother used the Necronomicon to resurrect him but since it took a while to resurrect him, his mother went on a murder spree to maybe “send a message”.

What i think is that friday the 13th and evil dead are connected, i think that he really did drown as a kid but his mother brought him back using necronomicon (it was seen in jason goes to hell i think)
