Finally someone else not praising the new Hue control. I found it difficult to use for subtle changes in landscape photos, e.g. removing excessive blue cast in distant mountains, greening up a parched lawn, etc. I have found the Color panel together with a basic understanding of the colour wheel to be a good tool to do this. One other trick (Julianne Kost): to change a colour completely to the one you want, set the Saturation to zero to remove the current colour and then pick the one you want in the Color panel. Your trick to match colours in a photo with the color picker I will include in my bag of tricks.

Always great to watch one of your videos Matt. I think I'm going to revisit some of my Tibet photos. Been on a photo break/slump and this might be the motivation I need to revisit my editing.

Thank you, Matt, this is an awesome video. I just bought your Landscape course that had a lesson on this very subject. This video expanded this technique even further. This opens up a whole new level of color editing for Lightroom users. Your Lightroom Course is an excellent course. I am now working through your Photoshop Course. Thank you for helping us to be better photographers. The best part for me is to be encouraged to think outside the box.

I love it! I've never liked the results of white balance fiddling and have often gone to Photoshop to blend in a solid colour layer - ending up with yet another humongous TIFF file! Keeping it in Lightroom like this is so much quicker and neater.

I've seen this color option button; but I haven't played with it much. You have inspired me; and I look forward to playing with it soon! I think I'll also start thinking about this option every time I start to use the color balance tool. I look forward to getting comfortable with which option is best for each photo. This will be fun. I love your tips and tricks!

Thanks Matt. This was helpful. One other tip I was looking for was how to completely change the color of a subject instead of just influencing it. After doing some research, it seems the trick is to fully desaturate the subject then use one of the adjustment tools, combined with sliders to paint in the desired color.

Awesome tip! Didn't know that temperature and tint altered the histogram. Neither did I ever think to use a filter to change the color. Thank you for that!

I was just doing a similar type of edit on a group of photos. I was using the brush to paint in additional green on some weather stressed grass and landscaping plants. I didn’t even think of using the color picker. 🤦🏻

Great tutorials. Could you please do a video on using the Lightroom tools in combination with each other. All you tubers seem to do ‘basic vs curves’ etc etc....I’m interested in how the tools work together
