I have a problem, a good friend of mine doesn’t believe in Hell or Satan but believes everyone is going to the same place (heaven) when they die. She thinks since we are all souls born through the same God that no matter what we do in life we’ll (our souls) all return to that God.
She doesn’t believe in Christ or feels that our souls need a savior.
She wasn’t raised in any church.

I don’t know where to begin, what would you tell someone like this that has no real understanding in what SCRIPTURE says.

The way heaven and hell is describe seems like its from another dimensional realm, something no physical telescope is able to see.

Here is someone who herself does not know what she is talking about! Question: "Where is Heaven?" North? Where is North ? In a Heliocentric system, there is no true North! But in a Geocentric system (Flat Earth System) North is strait above your head, that is why it is written when Jesus comes back "Every-Eye" on earth will see him. But not so in a heliocentric system!!

■This is from Josephus's Antiquities of the Jews. Christians use Josephus as a non biblical source for the historical Jesus.

~When the ancient world looked up, they saw heaven. the ancient world couldn't explore. They saw lights, clouds, sun and the moon. The way we see space today wasn't the way they saw heaven back then. They could only see space from the surface of Earth but we currently have an advance way of viewing what they believed was heaven.

Jesus will not be coming to save anyone due to that this person Jesus was apparently crucified with no one stepping up to protect him. So why would Catholics, Christians, etc think that Jesus would be coming back just to do the same thing??? Makes NO SENSE.

Conservatism in its self is a problem. Conserving ones views and beliefs is not open minded and liberal by definition, which is why fundamentalist conservatives will be the last to realize their imaginary gods don’t exist, but I would argue that knowledge will be acquired later on by their children or grandchildren due to insufficient cognitive evolution (due to indoctrination and conservatism).

I've always interpreted Heaven and Hell being above and below us as a simplistic way of conveying the concept of dimensions before the concept was conceived in its modern form.

Sure there may not be a heaven just after Mars but there may be a complex dimension beyond our conception that is all around us but our 3rd dimensional minds cannot conceive of it or even process its presence.

The issue I've run into with diehard atheists is that they interpret the Bible and religious concepts with the same depths as literalist fundamentalists. As though every word of the Bible is exactly as it is described instead of the best explainaition that people of that time could come up with due to limited exposure to later developed concepts.
