Italy: news is going around the social network of a picture of a 101 years old lady who gave birth to a baby boy.
According to the news, an Italian woman 101 years old, called Anatolia Vertadella gave birth to a healthy baby boy after several procedures of ovary transplant.
Many doctors had refused to make the procedure, so it was illegally done in a private clinic in Turkey.
Anatolia said that she was diagnosed with ovary cancer when she was 48 years old, and thought that it was a God’s punishment; and that she would be forgiven only if she gave birth to another child, even though she already had 16 children at home.

This was either the baby's great grandmother or great-great grandmother, I can't remember which. They were both in the hospital at the same time so she got to hold the baby. I think the elderly woman was dying and got to see the baby before that happened.

Nobody in their right mind would perform such a risky and unnecessary surgery on somebody this old. It's way too risky, and the chances of death during surgery certainly outweigh the chances of survival at this rate. The woman likely wouldn't survive till her child's tenth birthday. She'd have to let her family raise it. And it'd be SOO selfish and wrong to pawn a child off on somebody who was making responsible life decisions!
