I read this in a Green Arrow comic a few years ago and it's stayed with me like a love-lorn leech. There is a panel where Natas - the oriental assassin is instructing Oliver Queen and he says "Everything bought in a store is poison. It retards and cripples every aspect of the body's capabilities. You must make your own sustenance"

“If man made it, don’t eat it.” -- Jack Lalanne

Or in this case, if a man (company) mixed it and you didn't, then don't eat it. He also said, "If it tastes good, don't eat it." In this case, it was a warning to avoid addictive substances like sugars, salts, msg's, etc, added to your foods before being purchased.

I've never really been a Jack Lalanne follower, personally, but he did have a clue, clearly.

The beer truck can't make its delivery. This is an emergency.

Agree VP, we can never truly be sure what goes into foods before we purchase them (especially boxed, tinned, jarred goods etc..) The main aim for supermarkets is to preserve goods to allow them to extend the expiry date and preserving them involves heating which kills all beneficial enzymes that were present in the food/drink in the first place. Some of these foods you could leave out in your back garden for weeks and they'll still be untouched by nature. Rule of thumb is if bacteria won't eat it, we shouldn't either

You need to move to the country or a farm. Maybe work at a farm. That's natural...

This video was so consistently funny the whole way through! I giggled the entire time. When I tell friends how good your videos are, this is the one I'll show them.

Just found your channel yesterday--you were in Thailand. I like your silly, cynical style! It's refreshing! I tried for YEARS to read labels and buy ONLY food without poisons and preservatives. I eventually gave up and I eat very few manufactured foods now. As far as the ones that I do buy, I eat them KNOWING they're full of garbage/poison and HOPE that my body can do its job and detox them.

Fruit juices are de-oxygenated to remove the flavour, then they add chemicals present in the fruit or chemicals derived from the ones in the fruit to add back in the flavour. That's why they're so consistent.

So true! Here in the U.S., our meat labels are especially tricky.

They differentiate between “conventional” grain fed beef, “grass fed/ grain finished, ” and “grass fed/ grass finished.”

“Cage free” is very deceiving and does not constitute at all what you’d think it does. “Free range” is superior... but now you have to determine the amount of range afforded to each chicken, not to mention, their diet as well.

“Organic” has more and more growing loopholes. You can’t simply trust the packaging and labeling on most food today.

I had that exact coconut cream yesterday in a smoothie. 2/3 of a cup. I have UC. For me, my issues recede when I get a handle on stress and feel generally optimistic about the future. For others, its truly a matter of fixing diet (and also gaining the psychological sense of well-being that comes from helping yourself...finally). Heartmath and meditation are key in my health journey
