Install .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 8, 8 1 and Windows 10

Installing the .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 is essential to run some older programs and games.

The .NET Framework 3.5 is not automatically installed during the Windows installation process with Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. This must be separately enabled to run applications that depend on it. This can be done through Windows Update, this can be done in one of three ways. These require an Internet connection:

* Install the .NET Framework 3.5 on Demand
* Enable the .NET Framework 3.5 in Control Panel
* Download the .NET Framework 3.5 installer

If you encounter a error during installation 0x800f0906, 0x800f0907, or 0x800f081f,

I will show show you a workaround to get this installed.
Open an elevated command prompt and type :

Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /All /Source:D:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess

Replace D: with your drive letter for Windows 8, 8.1 or 10 installation media.

Hi, I got error via installing from the windows feature, then I mounted my iso image on virtual drive .. then cmd as per your direction .. I got error 14003 . The reference assembly is not installed on your system. plz help

Thank. It works at the last method. First I didn't know how to get source location but then I mount my window ISO file by using power ISO. after that I changed letter D to F(my drive) and follow your instruction. Finally it works.

Hi, I'm on Windows 8.1 when I want to enable net Framework in control panel (as you done) I click download with Windows Update, then I have error code  0x800f0906 so I mounted my Windows 8.1 pro iso, for me it was letter E, I copied the dism command, I replace the letter of the source by E but the process blocked at 66% and then an error (I was with administrator rights) appeared (saying that the files are not found ) after I tried with an other iso wich I downloaded on officiel Microsoft website but same error.  Can you help me pleas ?
