The first home playoff match for Chicago in years and only 10K bother to show up?  Weak.  And don't bother with the weeknight bit when Atlanta gets 68K and Vancouver has 22K.

A lot of people criticise the Dynamo attendance levels, but man we look like a packed house compared to the Chicago Fire.

The MLS should somehow formulate their league, by making some very IMPORTANT and necessary changes. For example : The season should be reduced from 10 months, to only 6. In other words, the MLS Season, should begin on the first weekend in April and conclude on the final Sunday in September.

The format to decide the teams that will compete in the post-season, should remain intact, meaning that only the top 6 teams in each of the 2 conferences, automatically qualify for a spot in the playoffs. The post-season format in MLS, is to follow the very same pattern used in the NFL. Gone should be the absolutely ridiculous system of 2 legged games, where a team advances by goal aggregate.
( Goal Differential. ) This is NOT Europe or Latin America. We are in North America
and every major professional sports league in this continent, should rely on the format of using SUDDEN DEATH Elimination in their playoff games, including the
MLS. The post-season schedule, should be conducted in the following manner :

Conference Wildcard Playoffs : Held on the first weekend in October, with games played on Saturday and Sunday.

Conference Semi-Finals : The Wildcard winners, face the bye-teams in a one game,
sudden-death elimination playoff match. Games are contested on the second weekend in October, both on Saturday and Sunday.

Conference Championship Finals : The last 4 surviving teams, meet in a single game elimination match, to decide the 2 Conference Champions who will compete for North American soccer's most coveted prize : THE MLS CUP. The Conference
Championship Finals, are staged on the 3rd Sunday in October.

MLS CUP Championship Final : Held 2 weeks after the Conference Finals, on the field of the team representing the conference that has won the ALL-STAR GAME, back in July.

MLS ALL-STAR GAME : Contested on the 3rd Sunday in July, on a neutral venue selected by the League and its Board Of Directors. The game should feature the
stars of the Eastern Conference against those of the Western Conference. NO MORE the idea of MLS STARS facing an international club like REAL MADRID, BARCELONA F.C., ARSENAL, or MANCHESTER UNITED for example. The winning conference, automatically competes in the MLS CUP FINAL, hosted by the team who has won the Conference Final, 2 weeks earlier.

Finally, as is the case with every major professional sports league in North America, MLS should produce an official GAME PROGRAM to be distributed during
the season at the venue, of the competing MLS teams. For the MLS CUP FINAL,
the league should produce a 200 page, collector's edition program around the exact
same size as the SUPER BOWL, ( FREE OF ADVERTISEMENT PAGES. ) Prized at only
$20.00 per copy, this fully illustrated program should feature an introductory greeting from the Commissioner of the league. A complete feature on the 2 Conference Championship Teams competing in the Final, with player head shots,
biographical profiles, scoring results of every game leading up to the Final, aerial shots of the venues used by the Conference Champions during the Season, and a
beautiful centrefold showing OFFICIAL TEAM PHOTOS of the 2 MLS CUP participants. Also included, is a feature on the host city in which the Final is contested, an aerial photo of the venue for the league championship, and a complete summary of every MLS CUP FINAL played since 1996.
