Android 14 Launch Disaster! Should You Be Worried?

Google was supposed to launch Android 14 for Google Pixel phones yesterday, September the 5th. However, apparently there was a critical flaw or issue with Android 14 and now according to rumors and information leaks, Android 14 will not be launched until October 4th, which is when the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are going to be announced! This is bad, and it's also going to negatively impact other companies Android 14 launches, like Samsung and OnePlus, who were already set to launch Android 14 on their phones this month! Hopefully Google can get Android 14 fixed ASAP so that it doesn't get pushed back further and cause issues for Pixel phones, especially the new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro!

You make a good point. That bad software destroyed the Pixel 6 sales. However I have used Android 14 and it's pretty solid

Android 14 Beta 5.3 just dropped, it's being released with the August security patch so that just tells us September isn't ready and it's looking more likely that we won't see it this week, I'd guess next Monday at the earliest.

In all honesty, people are down on Google, yet if they had released it with the issues, people would have been down on them for that, it's honestly a no win situation 😞

I'm just glad they caught the issue. I'd much rather have a delay with a fixed or working version than one with bugs or security flaws.

People need to realize, this WAS intended for release this month, and at the last min they found an issue.

That being said, if it was really expected to release and they found the issue, did you really want them to still release it?? 🤦🤦

That's like saying here's your we found out the brake system doesn't work right, do you want them to give you said car in that condition or would you rather they fix it THEN give it to you?

It's honestly a no brainer, unless you seriously WANT issues, in that case you get what you ask for and deserve anything that happens as a result of it.

How can Google a company known for software and AI keep having so many issues? So I accepted their constantly being quiet when things went wrong. Then accepted their dropping updates whenever instead of the beginning of the month. I truly believe their issues and inconsistency have helped increase the number of consumers that move to Apple. Not to say IOS doesn't have their issues. But how many times can you disappoint a consumer before they have enough and move on. Come on Google stop shooting yourself in the foot.

FYI. Pixel 7 Pro Android 14 beta 5.2. Moments ago I had an OTA security update push out without any prompting from me. Possibly an emergency update to Android 14 that, as Adam suggests, could have a serious flaw in the beta right now. I'll post back with any findings after I get this new unknown beta 14 build installed.

That's actually a bit disappointing, I am content with Android 13 smh I hope they don't start making crazy adjustments where you can't customize your widgets etc like apple did.
