How To Download and Install Windows 8

ATTENTION! At 3:36 when he says you can't close an application that's FALSE. Open your desktop, right click on the taskbar and select "Start Task Manager" and you'll be able to close your metro applications that way. (BTW: You can still use Alt+CTRL+DEL to open Task Manager) Thumbs this up to share it with the community encase anyone is having problems closing applications.

I've launched W8 in VB from my Ubuntu install and tried it out.

I could not see myself using this operating system outside of a tablet device. For a desktop environment, the Metro UI is an unnecessary change from Windows 7.

Not going to upgrade. If Microsoft tries to force it down user's throats, switching to ubuntu as my primary OS.

Wrong. Windows Vista was hated due to hardware support.

Here's how each version of Windows failed:
Millennium: Unstable, buggy OS
Vista: Hardware related crashes
8/8.1: Major UI changes
10: Privacy

I personally think this is a new concept and will take a while for people to absorb it. But it is pretty cool to have apps like that along with a desktop. I kinda like it more than any Windows!

@gigafide thanks, i was very excited when windows 8 development was released but i was scared to download it because in the past i broke my computer by installing a linux OS without making a partition file. im guessing this is the same for Os X Lion Right?

I like the new direction windows is going. They are keeping their phone, xbox, and computer os looking alike. Altho this is a tad bit akward UI for a comuter, the fact you can get back to a normal desktop is nice. "Metro", to me, is just another program like Windows Media Center.

Windows 8 uses a completely different interface that basically enables the user complete control over Windows' new and successful multitasking system. I personally have not yet made the choice to upgrade my OS to Windows 8 but when I used it in Virtual Box, I enjoyed it. It is indeed a big change. And yes, if you download the .ISO file from one computer, all you need to do is get a usb flash drive large enough to hold it. You need to make sure your Dell Inspiron 1525 is capable of running W8 OS.

I love Windows 8. My old laptop preloaded with Vista I got back in 2005 boots in 8 seconds. and is incredibly fast. However I still prefer my beloved Linux operating system :)
