Ep 38 - One World in a New World with Carrie Leaf - Author, Holistic Mindset Coach
You'll really want to watch this entire conversation. The amazing bridge between generations and the communication flow is nothing short of superb. It's proof that when we seek ways to come together and share, there are no age gaps. It will be well worth your time. Please do subscribe, too.
Carrie is a bright and lucid thinker, self-aware and very conversant about the observations of self. She begins by sharing her understanding of boundaries and why they are so important in receiving what one wants and deserves in life and relationships. Of course the journey wasn't that easy, knowing the hazards and still engaging them.
Learning to inquire and develop emotional maturity allowed her to move into a new location and also have a fresh look at patterns that she now had the opportunity to observe and make better choices. Sometimes it takes decades to come to that awareness.
Carrie has some great insights she shares from just being present and observant with the process of personal growth and self-awareness; the trial and tribulations we all experience of learning the dance with self. Progress comes when the personal compassion becomes present.
We dive into the nature of relationships being triggers for self-awareness and learning how to navigate the ocean of emotion with a better compass when the self-deprecation patterns subside. We discuss the little things that make a difference and the each person does things differently.
We all do what works for us in the moment, and it matters more how we handle the challenges than the challenges themselves. What she noticed in coming out of the pandemic is the nature of folks wanting to slow down, be more responsive and less frantic in their lives.
As we move into a interlude on holistic perspective, Carrie shares that she thinks for most people the mind/body connection is pretty easy to get, though when spirit, let alone planet, is involved it begins to get really nebulous for most. All the questions revolving around the inner connection happens in the alone time, even during struggles specifically.
What happens, as we both recognize and share, is that over time these growth patterns become more visible or perceivable as to when the process offers a challenge to overcome. The result is there is a willingness to lean in with anticipation of the outcome and growth, even though the experience may not be so pleasant. Zen mentions his favorite process phrase of it becoming 'excruciatingly fun.'
The conversation deepens in talking about the recognition of growth patterns and the variety of notions that come along with it. She shares that learning how to write our own story is imperative.
Please do listen in for more of your own insights as we share more common circumstances and realizations that help us all to recognize and ascend from our challenges together.
