House of the Rising Sun is an old blues song that Leadbelly recorded in the 40s(?), then Bob Dylan heard Dave Van Ronk doing a version of Leadbelly's version and then did his version of that on his first album: "Bob Dylan". Eric Burdon heard that album and recorded the Animal's version that we know and love today. It wasn't "an Animalls" song....
