I love used scopes. I've scored $1000 scopes with $220 eyepiece kits for $250. Going to look at a 16in Meade Dob for $600 later today.

Had a year of Astronomy in college. We took a trip to the Centerport Planetarium (NY) where they had a modest Observatory and I'll never forget seeing the rings of Saturn through a Pro level telescope

Absolutely, astro binoculars are a great way to start. I have several telescopes, but I still enjoy using my Celestron binos.

Good advice about the binoculars. I love my fancy scope but rarely use it because it takes so long to set up.

Just letting yall know… if you are a beginner I HIGHLY recommend getting something with an alt-az mount or dobsonian mount, as an eq mount would be very frustrating and a huge hobby killer. But great video Damon!

You should try the sky watcher heritage 90 (the Maksutov) i bought it and i had a very pleasant surprise, ( it s a little more in the £350 range but it s a great telescope vor viewing the planets and the moon, you will get very sharp images( especially of Saturn’s rings

Great advice, I myself use a 200mm Skywatcher Newtonian and 2x 102mm refractors for the moon and planets. Always use binoculairs as well, necessary tool to quick scan especially the condition of the sky. I also have the Bresser 127/1200mm refractor but I like the more compact 102mm, almost the same level of details, Skywatcher and Teleskop Service, not bad at all for the pricepoint. Advice from me: never buy expensive equipment if you are watching the night sky on monthly bases, just buy the scope between 300-700 and spend some money on better eyepieces, those things make a major difference. Barlow lenses, mehhh not great fan of them, takes away the crisp clearness of the image when watching visualy. Clear skyes everyone! ⭐⭐⭐
