Corporations are so desperate for money, but then INSIST on ignoring the very open discussion created by those who ARE their audience speaking on what does and does not work. Why would you gamble away success when we have a track record of what happens when devs get their way, vs when stockholders and management do?

Remember how Cliff needed to argue with Microsoft to let him include the chainsaw lancer in Gears, or Halo's many community-driven designs over profit first? Publishers get their way, and by that I mean releasing out of touch garbage that everyone openly doesn't want.

It's funny. I don't know why, but in my honest opinion, big companies such as Microsoft and Sony do not like it when their consumer is right, they do not like customer control. I wouldn't be surprised if when all of their games start flopping, instead of improving new games, they just say: "We don't think video games are very lucrative, they're not making enough money", and then they just switch markets and stop making games. Lol
