No, there is no way to know how reliable this story is. God only knows what goes on in a soul of a dying man: what if Hitler did repent of the evil things he did on the very verge of his death? I think that in God's eyes eternity is a far more heavy burden to carry as a toll for one's mistakes, no matter how serious his sins were: there can be no comparison between the infinite mercy of God and the deepest gravity of the sins that a man may have committed. Of course this also applies to mr. Hitler.

I don’t believe this, resolving to be a better person won’t correct the Ton of wrong a person has done in one’s life. jesuses perfect life on our behalf and his new nature in us through repentance of our own dead works and acceptance of his death burial and resurrection on our behalf is the only thing that will satisfy Gods requirements
