US President Joe Biden has announced plans to further restrict American investments overseas, in the latest in a series of measures aimed at limiting China’s access to technology that could threaten US national security. The August 9, 2023, announcement came as the White House declared a “national emergency” over the “threat of advancement” by China in sensitive technologies and products related to military and spying.

Again, making actions that will hurt other countries but ended up hurting themselves.

The more restriction going, the more countries will see the need of de-dolarization

No matter what he says no one will be willing to buy a 5000$ phone because if production moves to US that’s what’s going to happen given that it can do it.

China has risen as a force because they have focused on EDUCATION, especially in STEM fields, for hundreds if not thousands of years. It's in their DNA. Unlike in the U.S. where teachers are underpaid, ingraining the value of education by parents is sparse and knowledge is not revered as sports and entertainment. Biden may add restrictions, but eventually China will attain the knowledge needed for the technology. If the U.S. wants to maintain its "lead", it must change it's attitude toward education and science, viz., make them Top priorities.

China has enough money to invest its own tech companies, the only losers by the end are America companies and customers who will miss great new technologies from China. Everyone who has visited China recently can tell right away how advanced China has became lately while America is like a 3rd world country in comparison

De-dollarization is the off-switch of U.S. power without the need to go into war.

It's interesting to see the shift of global goods production that's taking place from the Chinese mainland to Mexico. I'm curious to see if some South American countries or possibly India will take advantage of the change and try and increase their manufacturing capabilities or if they don't care.

China just need a couple of years to replicate and catch-on with the US techs. This unnecessary measure will hurt US in the long term more than they could China's economy as they taught China to be more independent.
