More than anything i just want vertical slabs and aideways stairs. I don't care that mojang has confirmed they wouldn't do it, their reason is really dumb. Here's to hoping hytale convinces mojang to add them when it comes out

Upgradable backpacks in vanilla would be sick. But odds are I’ll just be a chest with leather straps giving us an extra 27 slots.

I really hope they add banana trees into the game, large tree fern too and all short of plants that would be perfect for the jungle biome. I also really hope that the desert update doesn't just include a palm tree and meerkats but adding variant of plants such as succulents and cacti, same with the badlands, maybe add yucca tree or ponytail palms. Basically adding more plant varieties and new type of wood would be great!

They need to make more variations of blocks for each blocks (dirt slabs stairs, log slabs stairs, etc) I know these can be modded but I play console

-graphics update
-modding update
and shader update.

this is what i believe minecraft needs the most. It's so strange that people don't vote for this stuff or talk more about it, it seems so obvious to me.

Making minecarts faster would be a great addition to the game as well. Currently the elytra is very overpowered making other transportation methods worthless. Once you obtain an elytra that's the only way you travel unless it's broken or you're out of rockets. The time involved for other infrastructure isn't worth it compared to the speed and low cost of elytra travel. Why bother invest all the resources and time into a railway when it's not even 1/4 the speed?

They should add grappling hooks which would replace water bucket climbing. Up to 5 blocks, craftable with leash and copper/iron, has as many uses as bow and works with bow or crossbow for further range. Can be enchanted with mending, unbreaking, quick charge and new emchant "range" for up to 25 blocks range
