North Korean defector disowned by Pyongyang family
Показать описание
In a CNN exclusive, the North Korean government takes Will Ripley to meet with the families of defectors, including the family of the most senior diplomat to defect from the country in almost 20 years.
Deep down these families are happy to know at least someone in their family got away to have the opportunity for a better life.

They way they’re drinking their tea I know they’re forced

Why do Koreans look like extras from 1980s Jackie Chan movies?

Some of these questions they asked in North Korea were terrible. They’re dangerous to ask and answer there and they shouldn’t have put them in danger.

Let them live, they live peacefully in their country. Let the time change the fate of their country. Even us we don't want other nation interfer us. We live in different country and different condition even culture. We should not compare our situation to them.

The families are definitely acting so they don’t get harmed, I’m sure they don’t mean such things to a family member

The family just did a DNA and realized he was not their brother but the son of a South Korean closed

North Korea has some damn good acting classes.

The family of the defector knows damn well if they don't condemn the relative that defected, they will be executed as traitors of the state.

For those who dont know: The background settings and interview is all an act. High chance that they go back to the labor camp after the interview. Hope they are alive..

Poor acting...but what else can they do?

Not a fan of CNN but this was a good story, give credit where credit is due

The brother said because he left he and his future generations will have to work even harder to pay for this. In that statement he told us that the rumors we've been hearing are true.

These folks have no choice but to say what they're saying. There's probably a firing squad waiting outside if they don't.

Shame on the countries that support North

Un killed his brother and uncle, what do you think he'll do to some faceless peasants?
Bredaxe
They have to “pretend” to disown him to save their own lives

C'mon, they could've at least taken some acting classes before the interview. It's not even funny anymore, it's pathetic. I do hope they are still alive.

These families most likely also want to defect and be free like their family members who have defected. They were defiently forced to say those things
