Your presentation is very clear. I'm not criticizing how you accomplished what you set out to accomplish, but for me, if given the formula, it's not hard to figure out error detection and error correction capacity for any dmin. The hard part is understanding WHY this is the case. It would be great if you had shown two actual codes and explained WHY it is true that we can detect/correct only up to a certain amount by assuming the contrary or some other technique. If, in a code with dmin=3, and char A = and char B = 001111 and I receive "000011", how can I correct even one error since I don't know if it's supposed to be A or B? Do you mean I "can" correct up to one error (but might not be able to)? It would be nice to make this clear as well: "can" detect as in "potentially in some cases (but not in others)" or "can" detect as in "will always be able to"?
