Watches with water resistance 5 ATM. How to use them?

When a watch is labeled with a water resistance rating of 5 ATM (atmospheres), it means that the watch has been tested and certified to be suitable for use in conditions where it may encounter water, such as washing hands, light rain, or splashes.
Most of all classic watches have 5 ATM as they were designed for a minimal exposure for water.
