Epson Expression Home XP-2200/XP-2205: How to Change/Replace Ink Cartridges

In this short video, I show you the ink cartridge replacement process for the Epson Expression Home XP-2205. This printer uses individual black, cyan, magenta and yellow ink cartridges that come under the 604 & 604XL codes. This series of Epson ink cartridges can be replaced from the printer directly and there is no need to use your PC/laptop computer.

Although we have used a Epson Expression Home XP-2205 in this video, the process remains identical for the other printers in the Epson Expression Home XP-2200 series.

Had to replace all 4 cartridges, and was a but nervous as the printer did all its interminable checks after installing the final one, but eventually the orange ink light stopped flashing. Huzzah! Thanks for the video.

I am about to throw this printer model in the trash. I have changed the original Epson ink cartridges and the black one is not recognized. I have tried everything. It's going in the trash. Thanks for the video!

I have replaced the black ink with a new Epson brand ink. Did not work so took that one out and replaced it with another new black Epson brand ink. Still does not work!!!! Cannot find any reset button on the XP 2205 at all so can’t try resetting. I’m also about to throw the whole thing in the bin and go and get a Canon. Always had Epson but this leaves me feeling very unsatisfied and angry.

Hi I replaced the black cartridge and everything was fine but now a red circle has appeared next to the ink "flame" and the on/off button is flashing. The printer is still printing. What does this mean?
