The problem with Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds musical is the music is like an ear worm that cannot get out of your head. I bought the album in 1978 and it was an instant favorite.

Liam Neeson is okay but Richard Burton has the best voice for this series narration.

I bought the LP in 1978 and adored the album ever since.However this track reveals a problem with the design of the tripods . In the original illustrations the heat ray is shown as a portable device like a miner's lamp held in the tripod's metal claws so 'raising ' it made sense. Here the heat ray consists of an integral beam weapon mounted in the ventral forward section of the tripod's body. so how could it be raised?

I really dont get why its said that the Thunder Child was the last of its kind Britain's Navy was the strongest in the world it would of had more than one Iron Clad to fight the martians if they are trying to fit with the late 1800s and early 1900s.
