Vice President-elect JD Vance — jubilant after the certification of votes — was just joking with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, telling her he bought his mother a massive MAGA hat for Christmas that would've made the Georgia GOPer "look like a Democrat."
The version of President-elect Donald Trump's signature hat is nearly twice the size of a regular red one, the Ohioan told Greene, just off the House floor after his electoral win was certified.
"She makes you look like a Democrat," he said, laughing with the congresswoman, who was wearing her own immense MAGA hat.
Vance invited his mother, Beverly Aikans, to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee earlier this year — and praised her from the stage during his speech accepting his party's vice presidential nomination.
"I’m proud to say that tonight my mom is here, 10 years clean and sober," the former Ohio senator said during his July 18 speech to the GOP delegates.
"I love you, Mom," he added. "And, you know, Mom, I was thinking. It’ll be 10 years officially in January of 2025, and if President Trump’s OK with it, let’s have the celebration in the White House."
