Maurice and John Lennon hung out alot. He said the biggest compliment he ever got was from Lennon. John Lennon told him, "I really dig your sound". Lennon gave him a nice guitar for his birthday. I think he's every bit as good as Barry. They sound so much alike. He was so cool. The king of cool.

I love the way Mo sings! He has a style all his own. Thank you for this one Chad 😊👍

A special man of his own even then. So talented. Miss the Brother's Gibb. Glad that we can still listen to these beautiful, talented brothers because they are still the best. They sang and wrote magic together. Happy Barry is still with us. May their children carry on the magic with him.

In 1966 Mo was 16 years old. Mo is my favorite I think it is because there are not many where he sings lead which makes me appreciate his song more. He was also the best looking.

Have never heard this. It does have a Beatles sound but they really looked to the them as an influence then. Gotta love Mo!!!

I've never heard this song before. Maurice would have been 17 when he recorded this. His voice became smoother and stronger as he matured but I really liked his 'young' sound too. Yes they were influenced by the Beatles back then, what group wasn't but they found their niche eventually and weren't afraid to change direction over the ensuing decades. Must have another listen to their earlier stuff. Thanks for the great weekend Chad x

Just love our adorable Mo on this one, Chad. What a great voice he had as a lead singer! Thanks for a wonderful weekend as always and you know I'm already waiting patiently for next week! Have a great week and stay safe.

CHAD, I do believe you have a special spot in your heart for dear Maurice! I knew instantly by the fedora that this would be a Mo tribute! Mo idolized Lennon (who gifted him with a guitar for his birthday) and some of his vocals did resemble John's, consciously or unconsciously. He was great friends with Ringo and learned bass listening to Paul who was his idol when it came to bass playing. Mo's bass is really fantastic and Paul's influence is SOOO obvious. He said he learned the bass part to every Beatles song, which was no minor feat, and many of those songs were very complex and innovative. Couldn't learn from anyone better. IMO Macca was the best melodic bass player EVER. This song is SOOO 60's and that's a GREAT thing. Catchy, fun and easy to listen to. I know it's trite to say so but he deserved much more credit than he received and for many reasons, musician, arranger, singer, composer and just a really nice guy! The wheels fell off when we lost Mo. To continue The Beatles analogy, George's role was often undervalued and yet he was so vital just like Mo. In that sense Mo was the "George" of The Bee Gees.

He was just a young teenager, and this is a fun 60's tune. I love Mo's voice. Doesn't this remind you of the clips from Australian Bandstand (remember Mo in the "Beatles Do" and Barry in the crazy pants?) It's about the same time and sound. Love it. Thanks Chad.

Thx a lot Chad . Always thought it was Barry singing lead. What a huge error! Bought this double LP at its issue. It gave me the tremendous pleasure to discover their early gems. Agree with you, its a so pleasant beatlesque track.

It sounds a bit like a Troggs beat. They started in the 60’s, shopped in Carnaby street, and had the necessary mop-tops.They had a great sound, too.

Loved Mo, a great musician 😊 I know you were specifically referring to Mo as the youngest brother in the Bee Gees aka the Brothers Gibb, Andy sadly never became a Bee Gee, and Mo was the younger twin. Thanks Chad for all your reactions
