How important is it to have the overflow tube make a downward loop before connecting it above the main tube on the insinkerator? Ours is 2 meters long and I recently had to empty it because it was full of horribly stinking brown water. I was thinking, if I buy a short one that only goes downward, it will only hold air. But maybe then I will get smell from rotting vegs in the tubing in front of the siphon...

Absolutely no information on how to connect the overflow, and no indication the pipe that is shown to be connected is actually a dishwasher.
