12:06: order for matrix multiplication matters so, |0> and |1> are column matrices and <0| and <1| are row matrices thus resulting in 2x2 matrices.

The host talks of normalized matrices as having a trace of one? Wouldn't we traditionally consider a normalised matrix to have a determinant of one?

Hi, thanks for the video. I want to ask about the examples of the pure vs mixed states @ 23:37. The third (iii) example was found to be a pure state but the trace of the square isn't 1, it's still 1/2 like in the mixed state in example (ii). Could I ask for an explanation?
