I thought I was over the pain of Passerine but I wasn't.
This is really cool and I like that you decided to focus on Sapnap's bit in the story. Once the story behind why Sapnap acted the way he did was told I felt really bad. He was just a broken man trying to avenge his love.

I really like this! I never felt much empathy for sapnap cause you know he killed Tommy and then this made me realize the same thing happened to him. Amazing job as always.

passerine as a whole was absolutely gorgeous. The story, the characters, the twists and turns EVERYTHING about it was beautiful, including Sapnap's Tragedy. I haven't looked into it but a part of me really hopes that his story will be touched upon at some point.

Why? Because as many point out, people love a good 'villain'. What Sapnap did from one point of view was the most dastardly thing to happen in history, but from his pov? He was serving true justice for the death of his love, his one treasure in his seemingly neverending lifespan who was stripped away either from crossfire/domino effect or purposely for whatever reason.

Sapnap seen it as righting a wrong by performing another wrong and it was so well done in my opinion. It goes to show that, just because you are effectively immortal by means of ageing, doesn't mean you are immune to the cycle of consequences. Technoblade did many wrongs before and Sapnaps story was just one of probably thousands and of even fewer who would even be able to get close to closure. Be it verbal or violent. And to that end, Sapnap died for it. Well and truly, forever, but now perhaps reunited with his lost lover or caught back into the cycle of repetition in a new life to live over once again.

He lay next to his love for so long, moss grew over them and one was reduced to bones. He could've laid there forever, but a fire grew in his heart. He wanted vengeance.

it mentioned that for years, eons even, he stayed with him. stayed with him even when he was limp and pulseless, until he was only beautiful to sapnap. Imagine, throughout the entire time, while he was dying, the years he spent next to him, he never let go of his hand. Even when decay started to come, no matter what, he still held his hand as if it would bring him back if he did for long enough.
And imagine when he realised it wont.
It wont bring him back.
That he was gone.

Nick sat in the green, lush grass of his garden, bathed in sunlight. He listened to his love's laugh as they lay in his lap. Karl's brown hair swayed in the afternoon breeze. Nick did not know why Karl was laughing, nor did he care. It was just the two of them.
The War God and the God of Peace.
Twin gods, the exact opposite, but still, one.
Nick bent down over Karl, bringing his fiance's hand to his lips. He kissed it gently. Karl smiled.
Nick opened his eyes. His first love's eyes were cold, their purple coat splattered in blood. His smile was dead. Nick's tears splashed onto Karl's placid face. Karl wouldn't wake up. He would never wake up. Never.
Nick clenched Karl's hands in his own, breathing shakily. In the battlefield, Nick made a promise.
A promise to Karl, to himself, to his crave for war.
The War God would not rest until the Blood God paid.
And he would, Nick knew.
He knew when he looked across the valley and spotted the pink-haired warrior resting his hand on the boy with eyes of a tundra and hair of gold curls.
That boy would be the payment.
"I'm sorry, kid, " Nick mumbled, as the arrows of fire rained forth from the heavens.
