Great video! One comment to other viewers "playing along at home" The original MOSFETs are from Fairchild, but he ONSemi ones linked in the description are compatible with it. (I think ONSemi renumbered the fairchild design after the merger). So if anyone is wondering why you replaced a fairchild MOSFET with an ONSemi one, that's the reason. The part is either the same or nearly identical. There are some other MOSFETs that have hte same pinout and similar characteristics that should also work, but finding them is left as an exercise to the reader. I though it's weird they used a mix of fairchild and AO for the VRM there.

You remind me a lot of Eli Tech, thanks for actually showing your diagnosis.

Been trying to learn to repair GPUs myself and have found your videos to be incredibly helpful. I've made some expensive mistakes along the way, soldering mistakes and the like but my main stumbling block at the moment is being able to diagnose where faults lay and what parts need replacing. I'm finding that watching, and re-watching your videos is helping to slowly increase my understanding

I will probably never do gpu repair, but these videos are awesome and informative. With how bloody hard it is to get graphics cards, repairing older ones seems like it could get real popular fast. Hope this channel does well.

You make great videos dude. One thing you could improve tho: you try to speak very very fast, try to be a little slower because sometimes you (rightfully so at that speed) you get confused. Otherwise very amazing videos, it's incredible that this content is free to watch

Really informative graphic card videos in YT ever. Truly appreciate your work. You are a gem to the repair community. Thanks. Just a request if you could explain about graphic card BIOS.

You could have checked for continuity from each 12V rail to the input of the MOSFETs to determine which ones were connected to the shorted rail.

Great video, informative.
I have a similiar issue with my Gigabyte 1080 Ti, when both 8 pin PSU cables are attached, the PC won't start.

Looking at the card as it's mounted in the case, the 8 pin connector on the left, when connected, trips the PSU, unplug that connector, the PC starts. Only when the right side 8 pin is connected will the PC start.

There's obviously a short in the video card, curious if there is a fix, maybe replacing a component or the whole PCB.
