"It's an anime convention man, Were all losers."

At least with cons in my area, the ones who take pictures of me in cosplay are those moms and grandmas who are only at the convention because of their kids or grandkids and they take pictures of pretty cosplays. There are also some conventions that have photography competitions, and some people who participate don't bother with asking for permission to take pictures while others do.

In terms of people getting over excited because of someone cosplaying their favorite character... I understand them, I used to be like them a couple of years ago, so it doesn't really bother me most of the time but I will never forget the one time when it was getting weird. So at a con around 4 months ago, I was cosplaying as Kokichi Ouma from Danganronpa, and I was super stressed and my tears literally just dried and I cried in the first place because I lost the bag with the things I bought at the con (over 100$ worth of great anime merch, mostly from the artist alley), and I was searching for it and suddenly this one girl was like "OMG it's Kokichi Ouma!" and I pretended to be fine and friendly and talked to her, and she asked for a hug and it was really sweet and she complimented my cosplay (There were like 4 other cosplayers of the same character, so that meant something), but then when she let go she just casually kissed me on the cheek and it took me a minute to process what happened. Like, I think kissed on the cheek can be platonic, I do those with a few of my friends, but I didn't know this person and I was really weirded out. My friend, who was helping me search for my stuff was like "Hey, what they did was kinda creepy, maybe we should report this?" and I was like "Nah, it's fine, I'm just kinda surprised more than anything". I mean, that wasn't a lie, but still, it made me more uncomfortable than I admitted to my friend and to myself at the time.

I also dunno if anyones ever had an experience like this but
There are some people with cosplays who are just rude to you when you compliment their outfit, ,

The last con I was at, I complimented somebody’s outfit and they just gave me and look and ignored me while walking away

What’s the point in cosplaying if you’re just gonna ignore people who compliment your outfit :(

One of the worst things to ever happen at a anime convention is the Yaoi paddle thank god that they aren’t trending anymore

yeah i cosplayed as todoroki a couple months ago at a convention and this guy (looked in his 20s?) all the sudden came up to me. he all the sudden started to say a ton of memes to me and he was being really frantic and scary. i just awkwardly laughed, not wanting to be rude. then eh started to GRAB ME and push me and stuff.. i couldn’t even understand what he was saying and i was very shocked. my friends started to like push him away and surround me, keeping him away.. i RAN. other then that though it was good💀 sorry i just wanted to share this

When I went to the Wellington Armageddon this year, basically every place near the entrance was selling anime blind bags all for different prices. I got a love live bag for $10 and got posters and stickers and a bunch of small stuff and then I got a MHA bag for $30 and it had a small pillow, posters, small trinkets and a mousepad. Only problem was they were all fan art and I looked and I couldn't see any watermark or signatures. Soooo 🤷‍♀️. I don't know if they will be at the Christchurch one tho.

The thing that happened to me at a con that ruined the whole weekend was the people in the room directly above us began partying at 1am, which meant we couldn’t sleep. The rest of the day was basically me running on energy drinks.

Moral Of The Story: *PLEASE DONT RUIN OTHERS CON EXPERIENCE BY PARTYING REALLY EARLY IN THE MORNING.*

I’m planning to go to an anime convention that’s happening in my city, and I really hope that I find someone who likes Love Live and/or Danganronpa there. I haven’t met anyone except a couple people at my school who likes those animes. ;w;

I see those “weebs” sooo much at the conventions that come every few months in my town..
They run around so much and roleplay loudly and it’s-
Idk I feel a bit uncomfortable-
Makes me feel a lot of secondhand embarrassment

I see it mainly with MHA and they always yell and shout, running past people and role playing, you never even see them look around the shops, when they aren’t running around acting weird, they’re all in a corner thinking they’re cool and it’s just so funny and awkward

I was at comic con as Loki and this little boy(like 3 or 5) saw me and was shouting “Loki!!” told his dad and trying to get his attention “I like Loki!” And it was so cute I almost cried, while I was there, 8 ppl asked for a picture, I said yes to all of them of course it was amazing for my first convention, except that I kept bumping my horned helmet on almost everything😅
