Our food is yet another source of greenhouse gases, and most of our food waste goes to landfills, where it can generate methane.

So, what is the City of LA doing to implement California State Senate Bill 1383, which is designed to address this problem and which went into effect January 1? Environmental Engineering Associate James Roska of LA Sanitation & Environment joined us for a conversation about how the City of LA might implement it, the role of neighborhood councils, and more.

We also voted on the Healthy Streets LA initiative (both a ballot measure and request that City Council pass an ordinance) and discussed two exciting new building decarbonization motions.
