I love how both this and the og version are so relatable (at least) to me. The original one was the first stages of falling in love where you are filled with hope, but this one comes much later when you realize it's unrequited love you are feeling, yet you'd still keep those wonderful memories you shared with that person. I confessed to my first love then, and even if it really didn't go anywhere (I'm nonexistent to his life now, and he's courting someone else), I didn't regret anything. Although it's one-sided, I'm so happy I have no regrets and what ifs that could have hunted me every night.
"I got all our moments memorized. I'm gonna say it now, you make me smile", "Even if you do not love me so, better that than never know. Even if you do not love me so, I just have to let you know" and 'Thankful to God I have you in my life" (like I love that! That person may never be your future, but at least he once was your present and your heartbreaks made you grow and be better as a person) just hits right in the feels, and perfectly summarizes the beauty and relatability of this rewrite. Also, you have such a beautiful voice!! <33

It’s likely that no one will read this… but I just wanted to voice my thanks for this rewrite. These lyrics describe my feelings perfectly. Especially the line “I got all our moments memorized, ” Speaking from experience, it’s so true that regret is worse than rejection- so I applaud you Lindsey for putting that lesson into words. You have an amazing voice and I subscribed to you! Can’t wait to hear more of your covers in the future :)
